What you can expect — and what not

We tell you this in advance, not once you are here.

What do you pay for housing?
A fixed amount per week, at cost price and within the legal deduction limit. You see it as a separate line on your payslip.
Is the work heavy?
Work in the greenhouse and on the production line is physical: lots of standing, lifting and a steady pace. We tell you this in advance, so you know what you are signing up for.
How many hours do you work?
In busy weeks often 40 to 50 hours a week. In quieter periods it can be less; we then look for other work for you.
What if it doesn't work out at a location?
Call your contact person. We will find you another place, and you keep your housing and your contract.

Working in the Netherlands through Work4you!: pay, housing and moving up

BACKGROUND

Weekly pay under the cao

Your pay is determined by the cao of the company where you work, not by us. This is called hirer's remuneration (inlenersbeloning): you are paid the same as a permanent employee in the same role, including allowances for overtime, nights and weekends. When you sign your contract, we explain which job group you have been placed in.

We pay out weekly. Your payslip shows the hours worked, the hourly wage, the allowances, the reserves built up such as holiday pay, and what has been deducted for housing. If you don't understand a line, we explain it in Dutch, English, Polish, Romanian or Bulgarian. The same goes for your BSN (via the municipality or an RNI registration) and your Dutch health insurance, which is compulsory as soon as you work here.

Housing and transport

We have our own accommodation. Every location is inspected annually by SNF (certification applied for) and has a dedicated house manager you can call. You share a room with at most one other person and have your own bed and lockable wardrobe. Coming as a couple? Mention it when you register and we will see whether you can share a room.

You travel to work with our transport. The departure times match your shift. What you pay per week for housing is agreed before you arrive, and it stays within the legal deduction limit.

Honest about the work

Work in the greenhouse, in production and in the warehouse is physical work: lots of standing, lifting and a steady pace. In busy weeks you often work forty to fifty hours a week, sometimes six days. In winter there is less work in the greenhouse; we then look for work in food or logistics so you stay in work. If you don't speak Dutch (yet), we discuss in your own language which work suits you.

If things aren't going well at a location, call your contact person. We will find another workplace and you keep your housing and your contract.

Moving up: from production worker to team leader

Many people start with us as production workers or packers and move up to roles such as machine operator, forklift driver or team leader. We support that growth and pay for training for employees who work through us for longer.

Want to become a floor team leader? Then we look at language, experience and how you work with a crew. Team leaders are placed on a higher pay scale and receive support from the office.
